Customs & tariffs
The biggest change merchants still trip over in 2026: the US de minimis exemption is gone for China-origin goods. Parcels under $800 no longer sail through duty-free — every shipment is assessed from the first dollar, either at the applicable tariff rate for its HS code or under the flat per-item regime on postal lines. Sellers who priced their US offers around duty-free entry in 2024 are the ones now surprised at checkout; sellers who bake landed cost into the retail price barely noticed.
Our answer is DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) as the default on US lines: we classify each SKU, calculate the duty from its HS code, and include it in the label price you see in the portal — so the figure on your invoice is the true landed cost and your customer never gets a carrier bill or a brokerage letter. That makes HS-code accuracy the single highest-leverage detail on this route. A vague code gets reclassified at the border, usually to a higher rate, and adds 3–7 days of hold time. We assign the code at SKU creation, sanity-check it against the product photos from receiving, and flag mismatches before the first parcel ships.

What is the cheapest way to ship a small parcel from China to the US?
A tracked economy line. From our Yiwu warehouse a 100 g packed parcel starts at $4.90 with full door-to-door tracking and typically delivers in 8–12 days. Below roughly 2 kg, economy lines beat express couriers on cost by 2–3x; above 2 kg the gap narrows and expedited or express often makes more sense.
Will my US customers have to pay customs charges on delivery?
Not if you ship DDP, which is our default for US orders. Since the US ended the $800 de minimis exemption for China-origin parcels, duty applies from the first dollar — so we calculate it from each SKU's HS code and include it in the label price. Your customer receives the parcel with nothing to pay and no carrier brokerage letter.
Which carriers deliver Fulfido parcels inside the US?
We rate-shop YunExpress, 4PX and China Post lines per order for the international leg; final-mile delivery inside the US is handled by USPS on economy and expedited lines, and by UPS or FedEx on express. Every parcel carries one tracking number (YT26… format) that covers the full journey and syncs back to your store.
Is shipping charged on actual weight or volumetric weight?
Whichever is greater. Volumetric weight is length × width × height in centimeters divided by 8,000. For dense items like ceramics the actual weight almost always wins; for light bulky items like cushions the volumetric figure can apply. The shipping calculator shows both figures and which one you are billed on before you commit.
